35.gifAn unbelievable playoff run has come to an end. A true Cinderalla story was unfortunately wrapped up after a Plymouth goal in Game 6's overtime. The Wolves have not won the OHL championship, nor the Memorial Cup, but they are all winners in our hearts. The efforts of this team are definately worth recognition. Each and every player gave it their all thoughout the playoffs. Congratulations to the boys, as well as Mike Foligno, who's late season transactions, and his Coaching abilities proved to be outstanding. Here's to 35 seasons of OHL hockey in Sudbury, this one we can all remember as the best. Lets all get excited for the years to come, and see our players develop into superstars.

marcmenu.jpgCongratulations to Marc Staal, the winner of the Wayne Gretzky trophy, for MVP of the playoffs. Marc was truly the leader of the pack, and put up 20 points during these playoffs. Good luck to Marc in next year's season where we may see him in a New York Ranger's jersey.

Game 6: Donati opened up the scoring early in the second, with the lone goal of that period. Plymouth would score two goals in the third, but Nick Foligno jammed in a big goal to send the game into overtime. An unfortunate Plymouth goal from James Neal will put the Whalers through to the Memorial Cup in Vancouver.

Game 5: Plymouth has taken the lead in a heartbreaking overtime loss. Sudbury's Nick Foligno scored a quick goal to get on top early in the game, but Plymouth would answer back before the first period would expire. In the second period, Plymouth would score two goals. In the third, the Wolves kept fighting to tie the game. It would be Justin Donati with his 13th of the playoffs, followed by the game-tying-goal from Pat Lusnak. Unfortunately the Wolves didn't come out to play in OT like they did in the third period. They were outshot 19-1, and Dan Collins would score the Overtime goal. Goaltending was not a factor in the Wolves' loss as Sebastian Dahm stood on his head turning away 77 shots. The Wolves are hoping to bounce back with a win at home it Game 6, then ride the momentum into Plymouth, to take this series in seven games.
